Pin HagLet me just start by telling you that I am OBSESSED with Pinterest! It is where I spend most of my “me” time. From all the food and DIY projects, to the gardening and humor sections, I love it! Most of what I see from my friends’ pins are actually repins. I don’t usually see a lot of them pinning their own things. When it come to using pinterest for business, pinning your own, original pins is extremely important.

To really build your brand, you have to promote your business. Essentially, you need get your name out there:

    • Make people remember who you are and what you have to offer.
    • Build friendships with these people and pay attention to what they have to say.
    • You may not think it is important to build these relationships and keep them going, but remember: You get what you give.
    • Social media makes it so easy to know what is going on in your customers lives (and what is going on with their businesses). There is no excuse for you not to stay up-to-date with them.

Pinterest makes it so easy to build these relationships.
PinterestIf anyone looked at my profile for instance, they would see that I have a taste for very unhealthy foods, and a lot of projects I will never complete. They can read the funny things I see and repin, and they can actually get to know me as a person. My interests, my style, my dreams are all out in the open, if you really look.

It couldn’t be easier to promote yourself and your business, because people really can see who you are...and vice versa.

Another way I use Pinterest for business is, I am able to follow people or businesses, who we can gain a lot of information from. Because they are such a good resource, I can see who they follow and who follows them, and BAM! More friends. With the click of a button, I can make connections. How easy is that? I can even comment back and forth, on their pins, making it even easier to find out more about them.

If you aren’t using Pinterest for your business, it might be something worth looking in to. You will see your social media reach increase, ultimately leading to increased web traffic, sales, and more.
